Santa Barbara Birding

My dad and I went birding in Santa Barbara today. We saw 34 species, which I'd say is pretty good for a windy day. We both added a new species, the American Pipit (Anathus rubescens) which we saw on a beach hunting for kelp flies. We also saw a flock of over 200 Northern Shovelers (Anas clypeata); an American Avocet (Recurvirostra americana), my second time seeing one; and some Royal Terns (Thalasseus maximus) grooming themselves.
